Are you a skilled and compassionate Teaching Assistant with experience working in schools and supporting children with autism and SEN? If so, we have a fantastic opportunity for you to join a supportive and nurturing primary school in Tameside, starting in November 2023.

Position: Teaching Assistant Start Date: November 2023 Role: Full-time, Long-term Location: Tameside Salary: Competitive Contract: Temp to Perm

About the Role: As a Teaching Assistant, you will predominantly be working with a child in Year 4 who has SEN and moderate behavior issues, providing vital support and assistance in their learning journey. Your role will involve collaborating with the class teacher, SENCO, and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment that meets the child's unique needs. You will be responsible for offering support both within the classroom and in a range of learning environments, ensuring the child's academic and social progress.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one support to the child with SEN and behavioural challenges

Assist in planning and delivering tailored learning activities

Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere

Implement behaviour management strategies under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO

Collaborate with other staff members to monitor and evaluate the child's progress

Create a safe and nurturing learning environment for the child to thrive

Requirements:

Previous experience working in schools and supporting children with autism and SEN

Strong understanding of SEN and behaviour management strategies

Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping children overcome challenges

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team

Flexibility and adaptability in responding to the child's evolving needs
