The successful applicant for this full time Year 2 Teaching Assistant role must have previous experience working in and supporting KS1 lessons. There is the possibility that this post will last until the end of the academic year, so applicants must be able to commit to a five day a week role and be happy to remain in a school for a long-term placement. Every applicant must have excellent communication skills and a thorough knowledge of the KS1 curriculum. SEN knowledge is important and experience working with a range of needs is important for this role. If you are trained to work with children who have medical needs and are able to peg feed then this is highly desirable.
*Supporting the Year 2 Class Teacher to ensure the students make progress towards their targets.
*Listening to students read and helping to track that this reading is completed at home.
*Working one on one or in small groups with students who need additional support.
*Helping the teacher plan for the lesson through differentiating appropriately and preparing the classroom.
*Creating educational displays within the classroom.
