I am currently looking for a Teaching Assistant and Curriculum Mentor to work in the English department of a mixed private secondary school in Trafford.
The Role
Graduate Teaching Assistant supporting in the English department
Five days a week
8.30am to 4pm
Working 1 to 1 and with small groups
English literature and English Language intervention
A keen and supportive person with excellent subject knowledge and enthusiasm for English.
A principled driven educator who believes that all pupils can acquire high levels of knowledge to allow them to analyse, discern and argue from strength and accuracy
Working collaboratively with the English department and Head of English

A carefully constructed curriculum that builds in constant self-testing to ensure knowledge is secure and to give pupils a growth and improvement-focused mindset.

We welcome applications from graduates with experience of:
- Working in schools or colleges
- Youth work
- Drama Workshop / drama school/ theatre in education
- Teaching children or leading children's clubs in community groups or places of worship
- Experience of private English Tuition
- TEFL teaching
To join us and be successful in this English teaching assistant role, you will need to:
- a minimum of six week's experience of working with children aged 11- 16 supported by references
- This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional references checks
- Provide a CV with a full employment/education history included and any employment breaks must be explained
- Have the legal right to work in the UK
- Bachelor's degree in English or similar subject
