You will be working with a wonderful in a rural location, that caters for villages in the surrounding area. This is a wonderful, charming, medium sized school that caters to some excellent students who are willing to learn. Student behaviour at the school is good, but we are still looking for a strong behaviour manager, who is flexible enough to work across a number of different subject areas. The school has a large onsite car park that is free to use for all staff, for those that drive. Being midway between Hull and York, it is difficult to access via public transport, but there are buses that run from Hull and York City Centre.
On a Monday, you will be supporting general Year 9 classes, and on a Friday you will be working 1:1 with a student with Autism. Experience working with young people with Autism is desirable, but not essential for this position. You will be working within a large SEN/Support team, who are extremely welcoming to external staff members.
* Assisting the teacher in the delivering work with the child
* Developing curricular knowledge as required by the school
* Undertaking observations of the pupil and contribute to pupil records
* Abiding by and work towards all the policies within the school e.g. behaviour management, Health & Safety, Equal Opportunities
* Carrying out the above duties in accordance with the Children's Services Department's Equal Opportunities Policy.
Experience working as a teaching assistant
Experience working with students who often display challenging behaviour
