This school is situated in a leafy area of St. Helens and educate children from Early Years up to Key Stage 2. Our client is a mainstream Primary School with a SEN unit on site. The school takes pride in having a huge focus on Autism Education research and development, therefore the opportunity has arisen for a part time teaching assistant to join their team.

We are looking for a teaching assistant to work with a mixed Key Stage 1 & 2 class of 8 pupils. You will be supported by a team including a qualified teacher and two teaching assistants. Hours of work are 8.30-4pm Monday to Friday. The pupils in this class have autism along with associated issues, including communication, speech and language as well as behaviour regulation difficulties.

We are looking for:
* Experience working with young children
* Previous experience with challenging behaviours
* Calm but positive personality
* Level headed
* Skills to empower young people to make them believe they can achieve
* Excellent listening skills
* Maths and English GCSE as a minimum, Level 2 or 3 TA qualification or equivalent
* Previous experience supporting Autism is essential
