Teaching Assistant required!

Are you Behavioural Teaching Assistant / Support Worker looking for a new opportunity in an Alternative Provision School in Blackburn?

Are you a Team Teach Trained Teaching Assistant looking for a full-time position starting as soon as possible before the end of December 2019? This is a full-time position on a long term temporary contract, working 5 days per week 8:30am - 3:30pm, term time only with the potential of going permanent.

Tradewind Preston are working in partnership with a 'Good' Alternative Provision School to recruit an experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant/ Support Worker to support in KS3. You will be required to support in the class and may be required to do some 1-2-1 support.

The most recent OFSTED graded the school as 'Good'. At the Alternative Provision School, they cater for KS2 - KS4 pupils with behavioural and Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs. The school aims to ensure that they give them the necessary support to improve their confidence, self-esteem and enable them to become successful learners in school and prepared for their future working lives.

The ideal candidate for this role will have Team Teach Training and a minimum of 6 months experience working in an Alternative Provision environment or have worked extensively with learners with pupils with behavioural difficulties.

We are looking for:
*Excellent communication and behaviour management techniques
*Confidence in dealing with challenging behaviour
*Experience with supporting pupils with behavioural difficulties
*Be able to confidently work as part of the team and independently
*Team Teach Trained (not essential as training will be provided)

After visiting the school, I was really impressed with the state of the art facilities. This school also encourages and healthy and active approach to every day school life. The school has a welcoming team of staff and a strong and well-structured SLT.

This Alternative Provision School is located in Blackburn close to the M65 with a large free staff car park. If you are travelling by public transport, there is a bus stop just outside the school.
