Teaching Assistant

Are you a Team Teach Trained Teaching Assistant looking for a full-time position starting November 2020 until April 2021 with the view to go permanent for the right person? Tradewind are working with an Alternative Provision School to recruit an experienced teaching assistant or learning support assistant.

This is a full-time position on a long-term temporary contract, working 5 days per week 8:00am for morning briefing until 3:30pm for afternoon briefing, term time only. You will be supporting a year 7 pupil who need 1-2-1 support at all times. You will be supporting the pupil in the class as well as taking the pupil out and delivering some 1-2-1 support. All academic work will be provided by the school so there will be no planning required, however you have the flexibility to adapt the work if you require.

The most recent OFSTED graded the school as 'Good'. At the Alternative Provision School, they cater for KS3 - KS4 pupils who have Autism, ADHD and behavioural issues. The school aims to ensure that they give them the necessary support to improve their confidence, self-esteem, self-awareness and emotional regulation.

The ideal candidate for this role will have Team Teach Training and a minimum of 6 months experience working in an Alternative Provision environment or have worked extensively with learners with Behavioural and SEMH (social, emotional and mental health needs).

The successful Teaching Assistant will be:
*Experienced within Key Stage 3
*Approachable, calm and a good team player Available long-term
*Level 3/ Degree Qualified
*Team Teach (not essential as training can be provided)
*Excellent Behaviour Management
*Prior experience working with children with challenging behaviour
*This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
*Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any employment breaks must be explained
*You must have the legal right to work in the UK
