INTERNATIONAL OPPORTUNITY IN ENGLAND FOR AUSTRALIAN BASED TEACHERS

An independent Jewish preparatory school in the Westminster area of North London are looking to recruit an experienced upper Key Stage 2 (Years 3 - 6) Teacher school teacher from September 2019. The role is a full-time class teaching position with competitive salary available in line with experience (MPS 1-6 Inner London - £29,661-£40,371).

This Jewish Preparatory School seeks to imbue its students with a love of learning of both secular and Jewish studies, with 25% of pupil timetable dedicated to Jewish studies. This is achieved through the support they give each individual pupil and taking into account the religious beliefs they value in every decision one makes.

The role of the teacher is central to the success of any school where teaching and learning is the primary focus. However, by working at this school, a teacher commits themselves to provide an outstanding learning environment with expectations above the national average. Furthermore, in addition to the small class sizes, they also expect teachers to provide differentiated support for all pupils in their class, challenging and stimulating them in all that they do.

This Key Stage 2 Teacher role will involve the following responsibilities:
*Plan, prepare and teach stimulating lessons to a Year 6 class, according to the educational needs of assigned pupils, including the setting and marking of both class work and homework
*Maintain a positive learning environment through classroom management among the pupils and safeguarding their health and safety
*Preparation of pupils for secondary school and selective school examinations

The ideal candidate for this Key Stage 2 Teacher role will be:
*A teacher who is either primary trained or a secondary trained Maths or English specialist
*A teacher with experience of preparing students for SATs or entrance examinations
*A motivated and enthusiastic teacher who is passionate about learning and teaching
*Open-minded, self-evaluative and adaptable to changing circumstances and new ideas
*A teacher who has a willingness to be involved in the wider life of the school

Location:
The school is based in Maida Vale, North West Central London, with easy access via Bakerloo and Overground lines, and within 15 minutes of Oxford Circus and Baker Street stations.

Benefits of working at this school:
*Class sizes are small and with a favourable ratio of teachers to children -- as little as 1:5 depending on age and need -- our programmes of learning have the flexibility for differentiation
*The school offers a warm, nurturing atmosphere that develops self-confidence in their children, prepares them for the challenges ahead whilst never forgetting that childhood is a stage of life rather than a waiting room for adulthood
*The curriculum offers the balance of an enriched secular education and a most comprehensive and fulfilling Jewish Studies programme of learning
*The parents are extremely supportive of the school and this vital partnership is most important to the success of the child
