On behalf of our client school, Tradewind would like to present you with a fantastic opportunity to play a key role the progress and attainment of pupils in a Year 2 class within a high performing school in Tameside. This position will commence January 2021 and run until the end of the academic year with the possibility of an extension depending on your success in the role. About the School:

The school is a high achieving two-form entry primary school catering for children between the ages of three and eleven in a diverse community in Tameside. The school has been judged by OFSTED as a consistently 'Good' school. It has been praised specifically for schoolwide good behaviour and embracing a school ethos in which children develop knowledge, skills and attitudes that will prepare them to be successful citizens of the future.

The school is led by an experienced Headteacher who is driven towards continuous positive change. He is also joined by a supportive Senior Leadership Team who lead in individual areas of expertise and are dedicated to attaining the highest standards in their role.



About the role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the progress and attainment of approximately 30 pupils in a mixed ability class. The school is larger than average size (two-form entry) and you will be assigned a full-time teaching assistant who is experienced and very familiar with the Year 2 curriculum. You will be expected to differentiate learning to accommodate individual pupil needs (specifically autism, and speech impairments) and will report to the SENDCO regularly to evaluate progress in relation to targets.



Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Create engaging lessons that align with National Curriculum standards and support the creative curriculum delivered by the school

Understand age-related expectations for children within Year 2 and scaffold and stretch accordingly to maximise educational outcomes for pupils as individuals

Plan targeted interventions in literacy and numeracy and report progress to the SENDCO to evaluate the effectiveness in relation to targets set

Keep up-to-date records of data and analyse where and what to reteach to bridge gaps in learning and raise levels of attainment

Build a positive rapport with all pupils based on trust and mutual respect

Work effectively as a team player with the Year 2 teacher, key stage and wider staff to share advice, resources and best practice

Contribute to the extra-curricular programme which operates on a rotational basis.



Essential Requirements:

-QTS Certification

-A minimum of 2 years' teaching in KS1

-Excellent references to support previous experience

-A CV that covers the last 10 years employment history with any CV gaps explained

-The right to work in the UK
