Tradewind are looking to appoint a highly motivated, energetic, dynamic and ambitious practitioner who will be responsible for the progress and attainment of approximately 30 pupils in a Year 2 class in a lovely community in Tameside. This is a maternity cover role which will commence May 2021 and run until May 2022 and the school will pay a competitive salary between £125-185 per day that reflects your suitability and experience. The school will welcome applications from NQT's as well as those with more experience and teachers with subject specialisms are warmly encouraged to apply.

About the School

The school strives to provide an educational experience which focuses upon academic success, enjoyment and participation and engenders a sense of community and belonging. This is a full inclusive primary school with enhanced SEN provision and is well resourced with Smart TV's, Chromebooks and IPADS. The school is led by an experienced Headteacher and effective SLT who work hard to achieve desired outcomes and support all members of staff no matter what stage you are at in your career.

About the Role

You will be responsible for planning and delivering various subjects across the curriculum to approximately 30 pupils in a Year 2 class. Differentiation and individualised learning strategies will be vital skills required to meet the needs of all pupils who will have had varying degrees of success in their educational lives. You will be expected to plan targeted interventions across literacy and numeracy to support those not meeting age related expectations and you'll be joined by a full-time teaching assistant who is very familiar with the Year 2 curriculum.

-Have a secure knowledge and understanding of the Year 2 curriculum and be able to confidently assess learning against age related expectations.

-Use assessment strategies effectively to determine who will benefit from additional intervention and plan appropriate content to address missed conceptions and accelerate progress

-Be able to communicate well with colleagues and work as a team to achieve desired outcomes ensuring regular feedback is provided to inform next steps for learning

The school has a warm ethos and has built strong relationships with local families and the community. An excellent CPD programme will be offered to the successful candidate which includes professional development workshops on a range of topics.

Essential Requirements

The successful candidate must:

-Hold QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification.

-Provide a CV with at least 10 years employment/education history included and employment breaks must be explained

-Be subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks. Or be happy to undertake a new DBS through us

-Have excellent references to support your previous experience in a KS1 setting

-Have the legal right to work in the UK
