Teaching Assistant (Full-Time)

Location: South Chesterfield

Position: Teaching Assistant - Year 2

Start Date: Monday, 8th January 2024 or ASAP

Contract Type: Fixed Term until July 2024

The role is based at a small, vibrant primary school located in South Chesterfield. With a commitment to providing a nurturing learning environment, the school has earned a good Ofsted rating. The staff and students work collaboratively to create a positive and engaging atmosphere, fostering a love for learning.

Role Overview:

As a Teaching Assistant you will be working with a Year 2 class, supporting students in phonics interventions. The role involves working with small groups and providing one-to-one assistance to enhance student's phonics skills. You will also be providing general classroom support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting phonics interventions with small groups and individual students
  • Supporting the Year 2 class teacher in creating an inclusive and positive learning environment
  • Assisting with classroom management and ensuring the well-being of students
  • Collaborating with the teaching team to meet the individual needs of students

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Level 2 or above Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Confidence in supporting phonics with small groups and on a one-to-one basis
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A passion for contributing to the educational development of young learners

Start Date and Contract:

The successful candidate will start on Monday, 8th January 2024, or earlier if possible. This is a fixed-term position until July 2024.
