Tradewind are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, dynamic and ambitious practitioner who will be responsible for a Year 5 class in a diverse community in Tameside. The post will commence January 2021 and will run until the end of the academic year with the potential to be made permanent depending on your success in the role.

You will be working with a mixed ability class of approximately 30 pupils with a large proportion of the class working at age related expectations. Experience working with SEN pupils (specifically autism) will be hugely beneficial to the role and you will also be joined by a highly experienced LSA who has a sound knowledge of the Year 5 curriculum.

The successful candidate will have experience in KS2 (ideally in Year 5) and will have proven success in bridging gaps for learning in preparation for Year 6 SATS. You will work alongside an experienced colleague and plan lessons together that maximise educational outcomes and will carefully track progress to identify and address misconceptions.

About the school:

The school strives to provide an educational experience which focuses upon academic success, enjoyment and participation and supports a sense of community and belonging. It has been rated 'Good' in its most recent OFSTED inspection which is largely due to a passionate Headteacher and strong SLT who work effectively towards the school vision.

The school will offer high-quality in house CPD throughout the course of the academic year and a supportive environment in which staff, parents and children work together harmoniously.

As the Year 5 teacher, your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Thorough detailed planning that aligns with the National Curriculum standards

Analysing data to identify and address misconceptions in order to maximise educational outcomes

Differentiating learning accordingly to meet individual needs and scaffold and stretch pupils appropriately to unlock their potential

Utilising a range of approaches to meet audio, visual and kinaesthetic learning preferences

Successfully working as part of a team as well as using initiative to undertake tasks independently

Prioritising and managing time effectively

Knowing the legal requirements, national policy and guidance on the safeguarding of children

If you feel you're a passionate teacher, ready for the next adventure and meet the requirements of this post, we will welcome an application from you.

You must have QTS, experience in KS2 (Year 5 is highly desirable) and have a right to work in the UK. All candidates for posts will be asked to provide suitable references to support previous experience and undergo an enhanced DBS check.
