Tradewind are looking to recruit a Year 5 Primary Teacher to make an outstanding impact in a highly reputable school in Tameside. The role will be a fixed term contract commencing October 2020 until April 2021 with a competitive salary that matches your suitability and experience.

The school provides a continuous learning journey for children from three to eleven years old and responds to developing and changing needs as pupils transition through the primary phases. As a result of high expectations, children make good progress and achieve well. The school is led by an experienced Headteacher who works alongside a motivated Senior Leadership Team to achieve desired goals. The school has a clear action plan in place to build on previous success and is on track to becoming one of the highest performing schools in Tameside.


About the role

The successful candidate will be responsible for a Year 5 class of approximately 30 pupils where a large percentage of the class are working above age related expectations. As a result, the ability to stretch children to work in 'Greater Depth' will be key to allowing children to reach their educational potential. Experience with SEND and EAL will also be hugely advantageous - you will be expected to scaffold learning appropriately to meet the needs and requirements of learners as individuals. You will be supported by a full time TA who is highly experienced in Year 5 and is very familiar with the curriculum.


To successful in this Year 5 role, we are looking for:

*Secure subject knowledge of the Year 5 curriculum and understand where children need to be to make a smooth transition to Year 6

*The ability to plan detailed engaging lessons that follow the National Curriculum Standards and apply learning to real life scenarios

*Confidence using a range of assessment strategies to identify and address misconception and conduct mini plenaries and/or interventions to bridge the gaps

*Implementation of a range of resources that cater for visual, audio and kinaesthetic learning preferences making use of technology where appropriate

*Differentiating learning accordingly to scaffold and challenge allowing children as individual learners to reach their potential

*Effective communication with the TA with regards to consolidating the teacher input with small groups. Provide tasks/ activities, essential questions for the TA and work as a team to assess learning and relay feedback

*The ability to work well as a member of a team learning from other professionals in the field as well as sharing strategies, advice and resources from your own expert area

*A positive contribution to the extra-curricular activities or even better still, lead your own club as part of the wider school programme.

The school is located in a vibrant area of Denton, Tameside. It has useful transport links making it easily accessible to reach wider areas of Manchester. The school also has an on-site school car park that's large enough to accommodate space for all working members of staff.

To be considered for position as a Year 5 teacher you must:
-Hold QTS certification (or an equivalent).
-Be subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks. Or be happy to undertake a new DBS through us
-Provide a CV with at least 10 years employment/education history included and employment breaks must be explained
-Have the legal right to work in the UK
