On behalf of our client school, Tradewind are seeking to employ an experienced Year 6 teacher to work on a part-time basis (2 days per week). The role will commence after half term and run until December 2020. The school is situated in a lovely, rural area of Tameside and is highly reputable in the area due to strong links with local families. The successful teacher will play a vital role bridging learning gaps and providing the opportunity for pupils to make rapid progress. This position is not suitable for NQT's.

The school is one-form entry school in a beautiful area of Tameside. It was recently judged 'Good' by OFSTED with the school report highlight how behaviour in class and around the school is consistently good, reflecting the school's six core values, which include friendship and trust. Pupils' typically positive attitudes to learning are demonstrated by the pride that they take in their work.

About the role:

As the Year 6 teacher you will be responsible for a mixed ability class of approximately 25 pupils. You will be expected to plan engaging lessons in line with National Curriculum standards and play a vital role in addressing missed curriculum content, bridging learning gaps and accelerating pupil progress to readily prepare children for SATS.

- The successful candidate will have secure subject knowledge of the Year 6 curriculum and plan detailed, engaging lessons with content that is relevant and meaningful

- Experience preparing pupils for SATS exams is necessary. You must be extremely efficient assessing work, recording results and analysing data continually to make adjustments that will drive learning forward

-The ability to deliver first-quality teaching will be key along with the skill to plan targeted interventions to address misconceptions and/or consolidate learning

-The successful candidate will utilise a range of teaching and learning approaches that cater for visual, audio and kinesthetic learning preferences and make use of ICT to enhance learning opportunities

-Experience with SEND will be advantageous to the role. You will be expected to scaffold learning to meet the needs and requirements of individual learners and refer to

-Be confident in your role and area of expertise but ask questions for clarification and liaise with other teaching professionals where necessary

-You must be able to build a positive rapport with all children - motivate them to take ownership of their learning and provide both verbal and written feedback with steps to reflect and act on

-Attend wider school events organised by the local church community

The school is led by a passionate Headteacher who is driven towards positive change and building on prior success. He is supported by a fantastic Senior Leadership Team who work together to act on feedback and achieve desired goals.
You will be fully supported in your role and receive in house CPD opportunities.
The school is located in a beautiful area of Tameside with easily accessible links to wider areas of Manchester. It also benefits from a safe, secure car park.


Essential requirements:
-Hold QTS certification (or an equivalent)
-Have a minimum of 2 years teaching experience in Year 6 with references that support your previous experience
-Be subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks. Or be happy to undertake a new DBS through us
-Provide a CV with at least 10 years employment/education history included and employment breaks must be explained
-Have the legal right to work in the UK
