📍 Brent, North West London
💷 £95-£105 per day | 32 hours per week (Term Time Only)
🗓️ Start Date: September 2025 | Temp-to-Perm Opportunity
SANZA Teaching are supporting a small, inclusive and holistic SEND school in Brent to recruit a compassionate and creative KS1 Teaching Assistant to join their team this September.
This is a truly special school with a nurturing, family-centred approach to education. With a strong reputation in the community and a focus on wellbeing, creativity, and academic development, this school supports pupils with autism and complex needs in a joyful, inclusive environment. Most children go on to mainstream secondary education, and staff work hard to prepare them emotionally, socially and academically for that journey.
About the Role:
You will support a mixed Year 1 and 2 class of just 10 pupils, all with EHCPs for autism. The role involves working closely with the class teacher and other support staff to deliver individualised learning using the National Curriculum. You'll use visual schedules, sensory tools, and creative methods like music, art and play to support engagement and communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support in literacy, numeracy and communication
- Support children's emotional regulation and sensory needs
- Use creative resources and activities to bring lessons to life
- Work closely with speech therapists, SENCO and class teachers
- Assist with transitions, personal care (when required), and classroom routines
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience working with children (mainstream or SEND)
- A calm, nurturing and patient approach
- Confidence working with children with autism and communication needs
- Creativity and enthusiasm - music, drama or art background a plus!
- Someone committed to a long-term, stable position
In Return, You'll Receive:
- Weekly training and CPD including SEND specialisms
- Temp to perm progression - build your long-term career here
- A supportive and creative school with a strong wellbeing ethos
- A fun, engaged staff team who love what they do
