Job Description

We are working with a vibrant and inclusive secondary school in Tower Hamlets who are looking for an experienced and driven Behaviour Mentor to join their pastoral team on a full-time basis. This is a rewarding and impactful role supporting students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs (SEMH), helping them to remain engaged in education and reach their full potential.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and group interventions focused on behaviour regulation, emotional literacy, and engagement

  • Act as a positive role model and trusted adult for vulnerable students

  • Collaborate with pastoral, SEN, and teaching teams to create personalised support strategies

  • De-escalate challenging behaviour and provide restorative support

  • Monitor progress and behaviour using school systems

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has experience supporting young people with SEMH needs, ideally in a school, PRU, or youth work setting

  • Remains calm, consistent, and empathetic under pressure

  • Can build strong, respectful relationships with students

  • Has a good understanding of safeguarding, behaviour management, and trauma-informed practice
