Are you passionate about supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We're looking for a compassionate, resilient, and dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Croydon and make a real impact in students' lives.

About the Role:
You'll be working closely with students who require tailored emotional, behavioural, and academic support-both 1:1 and in small groups. This is a rewarding opportunity to help learners build confidence, overcome barriers, and thrive both in and out of the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs

  • Support learning across subjects and help manage challenging behaviour positively

  • Implement strategies set by SENCOs, teachers, and therapists

  • Build trusting relationships with students to promote emotional wellbeing

  • Record and report student progress and behaviour

  • Support the wider team with daily routines and interventions

What We're Looking For:
✅ Experience supporting students with SEMH needs (in schools, PRUs or care settings)
✅ Calm, confident, and empathetic approach
✅ Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
✅ Passion for helping students reach their potential
✅ Team player with a proactive attitude
Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
