Behaviour Mentor - Mainstream Secondary School, Lewisham
Location: Lewisham, London
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term (until the end of the academic year)
Salary: Competitive - Dependent on Experience

A welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Lewisham is seeking a committed and experienced Behaviour Mentor to join their team immediately. This full-time, long-term position will continue until the end of the academic year, providing an excellent opportunity to support students in reaching their full potential.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Support students in developing positive behaviour and attitudes to learning

  • Implement and monitor behaviour management strategies tailored to individual needs

  • Provide one-to-one and small group mentoring sessions

  • Assist teachers in maintaining a productive learning environment

  • Act as a positive role model and build strong, trusting relationships with students

  • Liaise with staff, parents, and external professionals to support student progress

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally in a school or similar setting

  • A valid Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour calmly and effectively

  • A patient, resilient, and supportive approach
