1:1 Year 1 Teaching Assistant - Kensington and Chelsea
📍 Location: Kensington and Chelsea
📅 Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

September start! Trialling this term!

A lovely, supportive small primary school in the heart of Kensington and Chelsea is looking for a reliable and proactive Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a bright and capable Year 1 pupil with emotional regulation needs. This full-time role focuses on building a strong, consistent relationship to support the child both emotionally and academically.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a nurturing school community with a supportive team and the chance to grow and develop across the full academic year. The school is looking to trial candidates over the next couple of weeks, with a September start in place and the role expected to continue into Year 2 for long-term consistency.

The Right Candidate Will:

  • Be confident in managing behaviour through positive relationships and emotional understanding

  • Be academically strong and able to support high-level learning, especially in English and Maths

  • Bring patience, structure, and a calm presence to help the pupil thrive day to day

  • Ideally have experience working with pupils who have additional emotional or SEN needs

Requirements:

  • Experience in a similar TA or 1:1 role, preferably in KS1

  • A good grasp of the KS1 curriculum, or willingness to learn

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply for one

  • Professional references and (if applicable) overseas police checks
