A welcoming and inclusive primary school in the heart of Huyton is seeking to appoint a skilled, compassionate, and committed Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), moving into Year 2 in September 2025.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a friendly and supportive team and make a meaningful impact in a child's development. The role involves supporting the child throughout the school day, helping them to access learning and feel safe and secure within the classroom environment. The pupil can find aspects of the school day challenging, so strong behaviour management, patience, and relationship-building skills are key.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds a relevant NVQ Level 2 qualification (or higher)
  • Has recent and relevant experience supporting children with SEN
  • Is calm, patient, and nurturing in their approach
  • Possesses excellent behaviour management and emotional resilience
  • Can adapt quickly and respond to the changing needs of the pupil
  • Builds strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
  • Is committed, flexible, and able to work well within a team environment

In return, the school offers:

  • A supportive and inclusive working environment
  • Tailored professional development opportunities
  • A close-knit team of staff who care deeply about pupil wellbeing
  • Delightful, engaging children who will make you smile every day

This role is full-time and term-time only. The contract is fixed-term until further review, based on the child's ongoing needs and provision.

Safeguarding Commitment:
The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All appointments are subject to Enhanced DBS clearance, satisfactory references, eligibility to work in the UK, and an online search in line with the Keeping Children Safe in Education (2022) statutory guidance.
