Special Needs Teacher - Secondary Ages
Location: Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire
Start Date: September 2025
Salary: MPS/UPS (London Fringe £33,000 - £50,400) + SEN Allowance
Contract Type: Full-time or Part-time (flexible for the right candidate)
Tradewind Recruitment is working with a supportive and well-resourced special school in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Teacher to join their team from September 2025.
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a lasting difference to the lives of young people with severe learning difficulties, including autism, and those who may present challenging behaviour. The successful candidate will primarily work with students in Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Post-16.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have experience working with pupils with SLD, autism, and/or complex needs
- Be confident managing challenging behaviour with a calm, consistent approach
- Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills
- Be able to create engaging, accessible lessons tailored to individual learning needs
- Be committed to inclusive education and improving outcomes for all learners
