Job Description

SEN Teaching Assistant - Alternative Provision | Dunstable | September Start

Not every classroom looks the same - and not every student fits the mainstream system.

We're working with a fantastic Alternative Provision in Dunstable that supports secondary-aged students who've faced challenges in mainstream education. They need a strong, calm, and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September.

What the role looks like:

  • Supporting students 1:1 and in small groups, often with EHCPs

  • Helping young people with SEMH needs, behavioural challenges, or anxiety-related barriers

  • Working closely with teachers, mentors, and support staff to keep students engaged and safe

  • Providing consistency, structure, and emotional support - especially when things feel tough

Who we're looking for:

  • Someone with experience working in a school, PRU, youth setting or similar

  • A patient, steady approach - someone who can keep calm when things aren't

  • A genuine passion for helping students who've been let down or left behind

  • Available full-time from September

The offer:

  • Pay from £90-£100 per day

  • Full-time, long-term role starting September

  • Ongoing support, CPD and a team that genuinely values what you bring

  • Agency: Tradewind Recruitment

If you're the type of person who can build trust, stay consistent, and be the adult a student can rely on - we want to hear from you.
