SEN Teaching Assistant - 1:1
Position: SEN Teaching Assistant (Primary)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Flexible supply (part-time and full-time options available)
Pay Rate: £90 - £95 per day, dependent on experience
Year Groups: Nursery to Year 6

Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting enthusiastic and reliable SEN Teaching Assistants to support a variety of primary schools in Havering. These supply roles are available on both a daily and long-term basis, with opportunities to work across different year groups, supporting pupils with special educational needs, particularly Autism.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Prior experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs, ideally in a primary school environment.

  • Confidence providing 1:1 and small group support, with phonics or SATS intervention experience desirable.

  • Ability to develop positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.

  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to learning support.

  • Good classroom management and communication skills.

  • Knowledge of child development and familiarity with IEP and EHCP processes.

Essential Compliance:

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

  • Legal right to work in the UK.

  • Full CV covering all employment and education history since leaving school.

  • Two professional references from within the last two years.

  • Overseas police clearance if applicable.
