Art and Child Development Teacher (60% Art / 40% Childcare) - September 2025 Start
Location: Hatfield, Hertfordshire
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full-time, Fixed Term (1 Term)
Salary: £33,000 - £50,000 per annum (MPS - London Fringe), depending on experience

Are you a creative and compassionate teacher looking to make a real impact?
We are seeking an enthusiastic Art and Child Development Teacher to join our nurturing and inclusive alternative provision setting in Hatfield from September 2025. This full-time position will be split between 60% teaching Art and 40% delivering the NCFE Level 2 Child Development course to KS4 students.
About the Role
In this unique and rewarding post, you will teach Art to students in Key Stages 3 and 4 who benefit from smaller classes and a therapeutic, student-centred learning environment. You will also deliver the Child Development course, covering key topics such as health and well-being, child safety, nutrition, and developmental milestones in early childhood.
This dual-subject role offers a fantastic opportunity to combine creativity with real-world relevance, preparing students for future pathways in both the arts and the care sector.
We're Looking for a Teacher Who:
Holds QTS, QTLS, or equivalent (unqualified teachers with relevant experience will be considered)
Has relevant teaching experience and demonstrates strong behaviour management skills
Has experience teaching Art and/or Child Development, or a strong willingness to learn quickly
Brings creativity, empathy, and resilience to their teaching practice
Is passionate about supporting students with SEMH needs and re-engaging them in education
Can plan and deliver engaging lessons in both Art and Child Development
Understands or is willing to learn about the NCFE Level 2 Child Development curriculum (R057, R058, R059)
