We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Mentor to join a supportive secondary school in Croydon. This is a vital pastoral role, where you will work closely with students who require behavioural, emotional or social support to engage positively in school life.
Key Responsibilities:
Support students in and out of lessons to help manage their behaviour and improve engagement
Build positive, trusting relationships with students, acting as a role model and mentor
Work with teaching and pastoral staff to implement behaviour strategies and support plans
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records of interventions
Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience working with young people, particularly those with behavioural or emotional needs
A calm, consistent, and firm approach with excellent communication skills
A genuine passion for improving outcomes for students
The ability to de-escalate challenging situations and promote positive behaviour
Experience in a school or youth work setting (preferred)
