💼 SEMH Teaching Assistant - South Bristol - September 2025 Starts!
📍 Alternative Provision | Full-Time | Long-Term Opportunity (will consider part time)
Are you passionate about supporting young people with additional needs? Do you have experience with SEMH, ASD, or challenging behaviour? We're looking for several dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistants to join our client Alternative Provision settings in South Bristol from September 2025.
This is a full-time role (Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm) and offers the potential for a permanent position for the right candidate. If you're looking for a meaningful long-term role in a highly supportive environment - this could be the perfect fit for you.

🧠 About the Role:
You will support young people aged 8-16 years who face barriers to learning due to social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH), autism (ASD), and challenging behaviour. Working closely with the class teacher and wider pastoral team, you'll play a crucial role in helping students engage in their learning, regulate emotions, and develop positive relationships.

🧩 Key Responsibilities:
* Provide tailored 1:1 and group support to students with SEMH/ASD
* Assist with lesson delivery, behaviour support, and classroom preparation
* Promote emotional wellbeing, self-esteem, and resilience
* Help maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing environment
* Adapt to the individual needs of students in a flexible and consistent way

✅ What You'll Need:
* Experience supporting young people, ideally with SEMH, ASD, or behavioural needs
* Calm, empathetic, and resilient approach to behaviour management
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Commitment to helping young people achieve positive outcomes
* Willingness to work full-time and on-site in South Bristol settings
