Job Title: Maternity Cover PE Teacher
Location: Burnley
Contract Type: Fixed-term Maternity Cover
Contract Duration: 1st September 2025 - July 2026
Salary: £168.80 per day - £261.78 per day

About the Role:
Tradewind Recruitment is proud to be working alongside a forward-thinking secondary alternative provision in Burnley to recruit a passionate and committed PE Teacher for a maternity cover. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive environment that focuses on tailored education for students who benefit from an alternative approach to learning.

Starting on 1st September and running until July 2026, you will play a vital role in delivering engaging and inclusive physical education lessons that inspire students and promote their physical and emotional wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality PE lessons tailored to the needs of students within alternative provision.
  • Engage and motivate young people to develop their physical skills, teamwork, and confidence.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, adapting lessons to suit diverse abilities.
  • Support positive behaviour and wellbeing in line with the school's ethos.
  • Collaborate with staff and external partners to enhance student learning and support.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Qualified PE Teacher (QTS or equivalent) with experience in secondary education.
  • Experience or willingness to work within an alternative provision or with students who have diverse learning needs is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport with students and colleagues.
  • Flexible, proactive, and committed to student development and wellbeing.
