Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term
Salary: £90 - £110 per day (PAYE, dependent on experience)

Special Needs Teaching Assistant - Secondary Autism Specialist School, Dollis Hill

Tradewind Recruitment are currently working with a Secondary SEND School in Dollis Hill who specialise in supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). They are seeking a committed Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about autism support and eager to make a lasting impact in a school that provides a highly nurturing, structured and personalised learning environment.

Your Role Will Include:

  • Supporting secondary-aged pupils with autism in both classroom-based and individual learning sessions

  • Helping students to access the curriculum through adapted learning strategies

  • Encouraging social communication, independence, and confidence in pupils

  • Assisting the class teacher in delivering differentiated lessons and behaviour support

  • Promoting a safe, calm, and inclusive environment where pupils can thrive

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with Autism or complex SEND

  • A calm, patient, and proactive approach to supporting students

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • Knowledge of strategies such as visual supports, PECS or Makaton (desirable but not essential)

  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
