Are you an organised and enthusiastic administrator with a passion for supporting a busy school environment? We are seeking a reliable School Administrator to join our team for a September 2025 start. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised professional to play a vital role in the smooth running of a thriving secondary school in Blackpool.
You will be the first point of contact for parents, visitors, and students, providing a friendly and efficient administrative service. Your skills will be essential in managing day-to-day office operations and ensuring all school records are accurate and up-to-date.
Key Responsibilities
Reception & Communication: Manage the school's reception, handling all incoming calls, emails, and visitor inquiries with professionalism.
Administrative Support: Provide administrative and clerical support to senior staff, including managing calendars, arranging meetings, and preparing documents.
Data Management: Maintain student records using the school's database system, such as SIMS or similar platforms, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
Attendance: Assist with monitoring student attendance and communicating with parents regarding absences.
General Office Duties: Handle a wide range of tasks, including photocopying, filing, managing school post, and ordering stationery.
Safeguarding: Adhere to all safeguarding and child protection policies, with a commitment to student welfare.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You should have:
Proven experience in an administrative or secretarial role, preferably within a school setting.
Excellent IT skills, with a strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with a school management information system like SIMS.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
The ability to work independently, manage your time effectively, and prioritise tasks.
A strong commitment to confidentiality and safeguarding.
