Specialist Teaching Assistant - Penzance
Full-time | Part-time | SEN & 1:1 Support | September Starts Available

Tradewind Recruitment is working closely with primary, secondary, and specialist SEN schools in Penzance to recruit passionate and committed Specialist Teaching Assistants.

This is an exciting opportunity to support pupils with special educational needs on both a 1:1 basis and in small group settings. You'll be working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to help pupils reach their full potential - academically, socially, and emotionally.


Your role will include:

  • Providing 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs such as ASC, ADHD, SEMH, and MLD

  • Assisting teachers in delivering tailored interventions and differentiated lessons

  • Helping pupils develop confidence, independence, and positive behaviour strategies

  • Supporting inclusion and engagement across the school

  • Building strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues


We're looking for someone who:

  • Has experience supporting pupils with SEN (school or care setting experience considered)

  • Is patient, empathetic, and proactive

  • Can adapt to different learning styles and pupil needs

  • Enjoys working collaboratively as part of a dynamic support team

  • Holds relevant qualifications - but full training is provided if you're keen to learn!
