Teaching Assistant - General Classroom Support
Location: DE22
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Term-time only (39 weeks), Monday-Friday, approx. 8:30-15:30
Salary: £90-£110 per day (PAYE)


About the Role

We're looking for enthusiastic and reliable Teaching Assistants (TAs) to join welcoming primary schools from September. These roles involve providing general classroom support across EYFS, KS1, or KS2, helping pupils engage with learning, supporting the class teacher, and contributing to a positive and inclusive school environment.

Whether you're assisting with group activities, preparing resources, or offering one-to-one support, your role will be vital in helping children thrive academically and socially.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils during lessons, group work, and independent tasks
  • Assist the class teacher with planning, preparation, and classroom organisation
  • Help manage behaviour and promote positive learning attitudes
  • Provide one-to-one support where needed, including for pupils with mild additional needs
  • Encourage pupil participation and confidence across the curriculum
  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Experience working with children in a school or childcare setting
  • Level 2/3 TA qualification or equivalent (or relevant experience)
  • Friendly, patient, and proactive approach to supporting learning
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing

Desirable:

  • Experience in EYFS, KS1 or KS2 settings
  • Familiarity with phonics, literacy, or numeracy support strategies
  • Willingness to support pupils with mild SEN or emotional needs
