Cover Supervisor Role | South Manchester | September 2025 Start

Join an Ofsted 'Good' secondary academy on the Trafford/Stockport border as a full-time Cover Supervisor and build the experience and confidence you need to thrive in education.

The Role
Start Date: September 2025
Full-Time: Monday to Friday, 8:20am - 3:20pm
Contract: Full academic year
No planning or marking required

As a Cover Supervisor, you will:

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the teacher
  • Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment
  • Support students with independent learning and peer activities
  • Provide pastoral support and ensure a smooth handover to teaching staff

You'll be based in a successful 11-18 secondary academy located on the border of Trafford and Stockport.

Who We're Looking For
We're ideally looking for graduates with a strong academic background in Maths, Science, or Humanities, and good GCSEs (grades 6-9 / A*-C in English, Maths, and Science).

We welcome experience from:

  • Schools or colleges (e.g., Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, Learning Support roles)
  • Youth work or sports coaching
  • Scouts, Guides, church or community youth groups
  • Outdoor education, Duke of Edinburgh, or similar

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum of 6 weeks' experience working with young people aged 11-16 in the last 3 years
  • A referee who can confirm this experience
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
  • Full employment and education history on your CV
  • Legal right to work in the UK
