SEN Teaching Assistant - Barrow-in-Furness
Location: Barrow-in-Furness
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Pay: £95 - £125 per day
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Long-term with a view to Temp-to-Perm
Tradewind Recruitment are delighted to be working with a fantastic SEN school in Barrow-in-Furness, who are looking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team as soon as possible.
This is a full-time role supporting children with a range of special educational needs including Autism, ADHD, learning difficulties and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. The school is known for its nurturing environment, experienced staff, and strong commitment to pupil wellbeing and progress.
The Role:
- Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Assisting with personal care and emotional regulation where necessary
- Helping to deliver tailored learning activities under the direction of the class teacher
- Promoting a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment
- Collaborating with staff, families, and external professionals to support individual learning plans
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have experience working with children or young people with SEND
- Show a calm, patient and flexible approach
- Be committed to promoting positive behaviour and inclusion
- Be confident in building relationships with pupils and staff
- Hold a valid DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
