Special Needs Teaching Assistant - Secondary SEN School - Harrow - Immediate Start

Location: Harrow, North West London
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-Time, Term Time Only
Hours: 8:15am - 4:00pm, Monday to Friday
Pay: £90-£100 per day (dependent on experience)

A secondary SEN school in Harrow is seeking a dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join their team immediately.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic, empathetic, and committed to making a difference in the lives of students with additional needs. The role is full-time and long-term, working closely with teachers and other support staff to provide high-quality support to pupils with a range of needs.

The Role

As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support students with a wide range of special educational needs, including autism and profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD)

  • Provide individualised support and encouragement to help pupils engage in their learning

  • Assist with personal care, mobility, and communication where required

  • Work closely with teachers and therapists to deliver a nurturing and structured learning environment

  • Help create a safe, positive, and inclusive atmosphere where every child can thrive

  • This is a LOVELY school with a great team

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with children or young people with SEN (particularly autism and PMLD)

  • Is resilient, patient, and understanding

  • Works well as part of a team and shows initiative

  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them achieve their potential
