Year 3 Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support)

Location: Carlton Academy, Nottingham
Start Date: October 2025
Contract: Full-time, term-time only
Salary: £88.98-£115 per day (depending on experience)

About the Role:

We are supporting a Primary Academy that is seeking a compassionate, reliable, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 3 pupil with additional needs. This is a vital support role where you'll help a child access the curriculum, develop confidence, and engage positively in the classroom.

The role requires someone who can build trust, maintain clear boundaries, and deliver both academic and emotional support under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil in Year 3 with SEND

  • Adapt learning activities to meet the child's individual needs

  • Promote emotional regulation and encourage positive behaviour

  • Work closely with the class teacher to implement personalised strategies

  • Keep clear records of progress and behaviour to inform next steps

  • Communicate effectively with staff and, where appropriate, parents/carers

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience supporting children in KS2, ideally in a 1:1 or SEN setting

  • A patient, nurturing approach with strong behaviour management skills

  • Ability to adapt and think on your feet in a busy classroom environment

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply for one)

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, CACHE) are desirable but not essential
