Are you an international teacher wondering where you'd like to move to in the UK? Packed full of historical landmarks and entertainment, London can cater for all tastes.

London is the UK’s largest city and is home to almost ten million people. As a teacher, living in London means being surrounded by an abundance of cultural resources and professional opportunities that can enrich your teaching and personal life.

Packed full of historical landmarks, incredible architecture, beautiful green spaces and an abundance of entertainment venues, London really can cater to all tastes. Served by a Tube network that connects hundreds of stations, getting around is easy too.

Well known landmarks include The Tower of London and the Houses of Parliament, alongside the Royal residence of Buckingham Palace. For views of the city, both the London Eye on the banks of the River Thames and The Shard – the UK’s tallest building – are good starting points.

You'll have the chance to explore the 350 acres of Hyde Park or any of the city’s other beautiful green spaces. Free museums include the Natural History Museum, the Imperial War Museum, the Science Museum and the British Museum. The National Portrait Gallery, the Tate Modern and Tate Britain feature a range of famous artwork.

You’ll find famed stores such as Harrods, Selfridges and Hamley’s. Oxford Street features flagship stores for some of the world’s biggest brands, while Camden, Clerkenwell, Shoreditch and Spitalfields are packed with independent boutiques and stalls selling all sorts of clothing, crafts and delicacies. That’s before considering the luxury brands found on King’s Road and the hundreds of bars and shops around Covent Garden and Soho.
