What you will be doing on the job

  • Create effective development and learning plans for your class for each subject, each day
  • Keep up to date with paperwork and marking

How to become a qualified teacher


You will need some form of Degree to become a Primary School Teacher. If you have a University Degree, you can become a qualified teacher by completing a Postgraduate Teacher Training Course, and this can be completed with a School or University. Having this will entitle you to obtain QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) which is vital for becoming a Primary School Teacher.


Further Requirements:

  • GCSE qualifications in Maths, English and Science graded from A* - C
  • Pass numeracy and literacy skill tests
  • Experience working with children
  • A Disclosure and Barring Service Check will be carried out
