At Tradewind Recruitment, safeguarding your personal information is our top priority. Much like banks and other trusted institutions, recruiters are occasionally targeted by criminals who attempt to impersonate our organisation to extract personal information. We've recently become aware of fraudulent individuals posing as our consultants to deceive job seekers into providing sensitive information via social media, WhatsApp and SMS.
To help you stay protected, please review the following guidance.
Identifying potential scams
Be cautious if you encounter any of the following:
- Unsolicited job offers: Receiving unexpected communications offering guaranteed employment or income.
- Suspicious contact information: Messages from email addresses not ending with @twrecruitment.com, or profiles lacking verifiable details.
- Requests for personal information: Being asked to provide personal or financial details via social media, SMS or WhatsApp.
- Request for payments: Any demand for fees related to job applications or training materials.
Our communication standards
To ensure your security:
- Official channels: All legitimate correspondence will come from email addresses ending in @twrecruitment.com.
- No upfront fees: We will never ask for payments during the recruitment process.
- Secure document submission: Personal documents should only be uploaded through our official online candidate portal.
If you suspect fraudulent activity
If you receive a message that seems suspicious or claims to be from Tradewind Recruitment but doesn't follow the above protocols:
- Do not respond: Avoid engaging with the sender.
- Report it: Forward the message to our security team at dpo@twrecruitment.com.
- Contact us directly: Reach out to your regular Tradewind contact or local Tradewind office to verify any communications.
- Contact Action Fraud: If you believe you've been approached by someone posing as a recruiter in a scam, we strongly recommend reporting it to Action Fraud, the UK’s national authority for fraud and cybercrime. If you've shared personal details or transfered funds, contact your bank immediately for support.
Your vigilance helps us maintain a safe and trustworthy recruitment environment. Thank you for staying alert.
