The IT and Computing Department
These are exciting times for the ICT Department. Building on outstanding results over the last decade we have restructured our curriculum at all key stages to reflect the need for Computer Science as well as giving students the undeniably critical ICT skills needed for any workspace. The staffing for ICT currently consists of a Head of Department and three full-time teachers all of whom teach from KS3 through to KS5. Computer facilities There are about 600 computers connected to the network, with 8 specialist ICT suites, a Sixth Form Learn Centre with 50 computers and four other areas served by trolleys of wireless laptops. All are on a single network, currently running RM Community Connect 4. Optic fibre links the two sites.
Every classroom in the school has a desktop computer and an interactive whiteboard. Timetabled ICT ICT is taught as a discrete subject to all students in Years 7-11. Creative I-Media and the ECDL are taught to Years 10-11 for 1 period a week. Computing and Applied ICT courses are taken in the Sixth Form at A level. More recently we have introduced GCSE Computer Science at KS4 with students showing a keen interest in the subject. As a department we have developed an online curriculum, and all the ICT teaching materials are made available to students to access outside of class. We also aim to mark most work online.
The broader ICT curriculum We recognise the need to encourage students and staff to develop their ICT expertise. We run both clubs and extra classes for students outside lessons. We aim to open computer rooms every lunchtime and every evening. ICT staff are often busy supporting KS4 students with ICT coursework after school, but we also wish to develop a range of extension classes to develop students' knowledge further in specialist software.
All staff are encouraged to play a full part in the life of the school in addition to the core tasks of preparation, teaching, marking and assessing progress. This client would be keen to support all aspects of staff development, personal and professional, and has a strong staff development policy.
You would also benefit from a high standard of professional practice, with bespoke in-house CPD provision, and affiliation to nationally recognised courses and providers (SSAT, Teaching Leaders, Future Leaders, NPQs);

They also have clear pathways for career development and progression with a proven track-record of success in developing leaders. You will be working in a supportive and collegiate environment, with regular staff social and sporting activities (such as yoga, football and House events). You will have excellent opportunities for leading work with external partners (National Support School, National Teaching School)

Based in Lambeth they have great public transport links with a bus stopping right outside the school. Parking spaces are limited but parking requests can be considered.
