Learning Support Assistant

Opportunity in Aylesbury - Mainstream Primary School

  • Full-Time Position, Starting February 2023
  • One-to-One Role with a Year 4 Student
  • £90 to £100 per day

Are you looking for a fulfilling role as a Learning Support Assistant? This exciting opportunity involves working closely with a Year 4 student who has Autism and communication difficulties in a mainstream primary school. Your role will be crucial in providing personalized support and facilitating the student's progress. This full-time position begins in February.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalised support to a Year 4 student with Autism and communication difficulties.
  • Assist the student in engaging in classroom activities and accessing the curriculum.
  • Implement effective strategies and interventions to meet the student's specific needs and learning goals.
  • Cultivate a positive and inclusive learning environment for the student's growth.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher and other professionals to ensure consistent support.
  • Support the student's social and emotional well-being.

We are looking for individuals with:

  • Previous experience working with students with special educational needs, particularly Autism and communication difficulties (preferred but not essential).
  • A solid understanding of the unique needs and challenges faced by students with Autism.
  • The ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach to support the student's development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the student.
  • Willingness to continue learning and attend training sessions.
