We are looking for a Level 3 Qualified Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs to support a small group of children in a lovely Primary School in Stourbridge.

About the School:

We are currently working with a one-form entry school in Stourbridge rated "GOOD" on its recent OFSTED inspection last year. The school is a fairly small school where the children are able to be themselves and develop positive attitudes. The staff within the school are caring and hold a high regard for the well-being of the children and treat them with respect, creating a trusting and happy environment. 15% of the school population is made up of children with various Additional Needs, highlighting the importance of SEN TA's within this school. The Leaders at the school hold high expectations for every child and are keen for them to succeed. The staff within the school feel welcomed and well supported and in turn feel proud to work at this school.

About the Role:

The role will consist of using your knowledge of the National Curriculum in conjunction with your knowledge and experience of working with people with various Special Educational Needs. You will work with the classroom teacher and other support staff to provide tailored support to the children you are working with. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing resources for lessons.
  • Supporting and supervising the activities of individuals, small groups and the class as a whole.
  • Maintaining a purposeful environment in accordance with lesson plans.
  • Adapting the level of support given depending on the need of the child.
  • Keeping a close eye on the physical, social and emotional welfare of the children.
  • Following, implementing and adhering to the school's behaviour policy, and contributing to the management of challenging behaviour.
  • Maintaining an engaging and stimulating environment for the students.
  • Providing regular feedback to Teachers on the child's achievement and progress.
  • Modelling and promoting positive behaviour, using appropriate language and communication skills.
  • Keeping records and attending meetings to review the children's progress.
  • Working alongside other professionals such as speech and language therapists or Educational Psychologists.

This role is a full time role 8:15am - 3:40pm, working Monday - Friday.

If you are a reliable, passionate and enthusiastic person who is keen to make an impact on the children's lives, please get in touch and join our team.
