Job Advertisement: Unqualified SEND Teacher or HLTA for Primary ARP

SANZA Teaching Agency is proud to support the recruitment of an Unqualified SEND Teacher or HLTA for a primary Autism Resource Provision (ARP) project supporting SEND pupils. We are working closely with the school to find a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to lead this new initiative.

About the School: The school is a one-form entry Ofsted Outstanding primary school located in the heart of Westminster. They have a strong commitment to inclusive education and providing exceptional support for students with additional needs. The new Primary ARP has been established to cater to children with Autism and an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Primary Autism Resource Provision (ARP) project for SEND pupils
  • Plan and deliver creative and engaging lessons tailored to the individual needs of the students
  • Collaborate with parents, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and other professionals to develop personalized learning programs
  • Support students in accessing mainstream classes and facilitate their integration with peers
  • Create a low-arousal and communication-friendly environment within the ARP
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students, focusing on their academic and social development
  • Utilize a range of strategies and resources to enhance learning outcomes for students with Autism
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing regular feedback and assessment
  • Contribute to the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies
  • Work closely with the school team and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to student support

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with SEND pupils is essential
  • HLTA qualification or willingness to work towards one is desirable
  • Strong understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorders and effective teaching strategies for SEND students
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, parents, and professionals
  • Ability to create an inclusive and nurturing learning environment
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students
  • Passion for making a positive impact on the lives of children with additional needs
