Are you keen to work in a small school providing specialist support to students who are visually impaired? This is an exciting opportunity to work in a unique setting with a school that prides itself on providing excellent support and educational opportunities to their students. The school received an Outstanding OFSTED rating in January this year and are looking for a passionate SEN teacher to join the team in September.

Part of a large multi academy trust and linked with a growing number of SEN schools, this school in Hillingdon specifically supports blind and partially sighted children with significant learning difficulties and disabilities. There are only 50 pupils at the school and all aged 2 to 14. The needs of the students are often complex and can include: vision impairment, multi-sensory impairment, learning difficulties and disabilities, physical disabilities, communication difficulties as well as additional medical and health needs.

The school are looking for a teacher who is confident and capable in SEN settings, experienced in VI support, personal cares and manual handling. This is a classroom-based role where you will have the support of VI Teaching Assistants. No two days will be the same and the small class sizes mean you are able to provide individualised and intensive support. With the right support from the right teachers, students at this school achieve amazing results in their personal and academic development.

Success in this role you will require strong communication and organisation skills and a proactive, solution focused attitude. You will be joining a small but specialist team of dedicated professionals who are committed to providing the best education they can to their students.

The Teacher would:
*Hold UK recognised qualifications to teach
*Have a proven ability to teach students who are visually impaired
*Ideally have experience in a Primary SEN setting
*Be able to manage complex needs
*Be confident with personal cares and manual handling
*Differentiate lessons to suit the needs and abilities of learners in the class

*Blind and partially sighted children with significant learning difficulties and disabilities

*Onsite Family services that provide support to the local community

*Hold an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
*Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any employment breaks must be explained
