A great opportunity for a creative Teaching Assistant to work as a HLTA within a unique school in Barking and Dagenham, East London in a Ks2 classroom. It is key that you have an interest in SEMH, Sports, P.E. Physical Education, Music and Art.


*The Teaching Assistant position in Barking and Dagenham, East London, is to start in September
*The school are looking to interview the correct SEN Teaching Assistant or Behaviour Mentor ASAP before the holidays
*It is key that as a Teaching Assistant (Special Needs, Mentor), you are positive and enjoy having a laugh
*The Teaching Assistant (Special Needs) will support pupils with life skills and leisure activities
*The School are keen on practitioner with a good level of skill of Ks2 and Behaviour Management
*The School have a therapeutic approach to learning
*It is desirable that the Teaching Assistant has an interest in SEMH, Sports, P.E. Physical Education, Music and Art
*The school is an outstanding Teaching Assistant in Barking and Dagenham, East London
*Small class sizes of 6 pupils and 3 support staff


The primary school in Barking and Dagenham, East London have a provision for children with social and emotional difficulties with a therapeutic approach. It has places for between 16 and 22 children, catering for Year 1 to Year 6. Your day as a HLTA will depend entirely on how you support the children and work with a lovely team of support staff and teachers. There really are no limits to the interests, passions, hobbies and activities that the students we support enjoy


The Mentor would:
*Help all students enjoy their learning and get as much out of life as they can
*Improve countless young lives
*Identify challenges and ensure that the pupils learn
*Support pupils with communication skills in a classroom
*Help pupils develop their communication and life skills in a classroom

The Mentor we require should have:
*Experience working with pupils with special educational needs
*Team Teach Training is desired
*Experience in using behaviour techniques within a classroom
*Knowledge of teaching range Ks1 and Ks2
*Must be Caring, Adaptable and highly intuitive


It is key for this role that you are positive and enjoy having a laugh. The pupils you will be supporting are an active bunch and enjoy various leisure and activities in the community - including swimming, for example. Please ensure you can commit to this role, as reliability for the students you will be supporting is a key factor. They require stability and need support in accessing activities to allow them to achieve their full potential.
