Tradewind are recruiting on behalf of a fantastic school in Oldham who are looking to recruit an experienced Yr6 Teacher for September. Initially, this appointment will be for the academic year with the option to extend if the appointment has proven successful.

This lovely two form entry primary school with amazing facilities and resources is graded 'Good' by Ofsted. The staff are a close-knit team, working together to achieve personal and professional fulfilment. They would like to add a team player to the mix, someone who has extensive knowledge of working with Yr6 children and the demands the role has.

There will be 32 children in the class as we head into September. Due to current circumstances, the school are concerned that many of the children will have fallen behind. As such, September will be an incredibly difficult and challenging month as everyone works together to assess the children's abilities. The school require a good communicator who is a team player, who is willing to take responsibility. Given the strenuous nature of the challenge, they also want someone who can approach the role with a sense of fun. The school is a great place to work, it has a harmonious staff room and the Head has created an environment that staff and children can thrive in but also enjoy. Ideally, the successful applicant will have a specialism in either Maths or English with a creative outlook on the curriculum. Core subjects will be vital next year, as will the ability to ensure learners of all abilities are engaged.
The successful applicant will work closely alongside the current Yr6 teacher and teaching assistants. In your classroom you will have a general classroom teaching assistant as well as two specialised 1-1 support staff. There is plenty of support in this school from the ground up and they are gearing up to have a brilliant year next year, despite the difficulties they and all schools may face. Details of the role are as follows:
* September 2020 start and commitment for the full academic year
* Pay £120 - £190 per day - paid to scale with opportunity for TLR for the right candidate
* Yr6 curriculum knowledge with SATS experience
* Minimum 3 years teaching experience
* Meet the 8 teaching standards
* Understanding and confidence to work with a wide range of abilities

The school has recently been awarded a grant to make improvements with the school building. As we speak, the school is undertaking extensive renovations which will be ready for September. The school will feel like new and they plan on creating the perfect environment for children to enjoy and thrive in their learning experience. There are extensive external areas providing opportunities for sport, play and extended curriculum activities.
