Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a well-regarded Primary SEMH School in Hillingdon to recruit a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant in this setting, you will support pupils on both a one-to-one basis and in small groups, helping them access learning, regulate emotions, and develop confidence. Many pupils in this school have experienced adverse childhood experiences or challenges with mainstream education, and your consistency and empathy will play a vital role in helping them thrive.

Experience supporting children with SEMH or additional needs in a school or care setting
A calm, compassionate, and proactive approach
Confidence in managing challenging behaviour and using de-escalation techniques
The ability to build trust and meaningful relationships with pupils
A genuine commitment to inclusion and improving life chances for vulnerable children
In Return, the School Offers:
A supportive and experienced team who value every member of staff
Ongoing training and CPD opportunities tailored to the SEMH setting
Smaller class sizes with high staff-to-pupil ratios
A positive and purposeful working environment
The opportunity to make a lasting impact on young children's lives
Why Work with Tradewind?
PAYE only - no umbrella companies or hidden deductions
Access to The National College for high-quality CPD
A dedicated consultant specialising in SEND recruitment across West London
Long-term and permanent roles to suit your goals and strengths
Honest, people-first support every step of the way
If you are ready to support children who need it most and are looking for a fulfilling role within a nurturing and structured SEMH environment, we would love to hear from you.
