Art Teacher - Secondary PRU
Location: North West London
Pay: £150 - £280 per day (PAYE, depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full-time, Long-term
Qualifications Required: QTS or QTLS

Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a well-established Secondary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in North West London, which is seeking an Art Teacher to join their team from September 2025 on a full-time basis.
The Role
As an Art Teacher in this PRU setting, you will deliver engaging, accessible lessons to students aged 11-18, many of whom face social, emotional, and behavioural challenges. Your role will involve creating a safe and expressive learning environment where pupils can build confidence, develop practical skills, and explore creativity as a means of self-expression.
Working collaboratively with support staff and the wider pastoral team, you'll plan and deliver a curriculum that is both therapeutic and inclusive, whilst still meeting key educational standards.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS - essential (Will be expected to teach BTEC)
Experience teaching Art at secondary level, ideally in an alternative provision or specialist setting
A creative, flexible approach to engaging pupils with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour
Strong classroom management skills and the ability to build trust quickly
A genuine belief in the potential of every pupil and a commitment to inclusive education
