Early Years Support Staff - Flexible Cover in Chesterfield Primary Schools
Position: EYFS Teaching Assistant - Supply Basis
Location: Chesterfield Hours: 8:30am - 3.30pm daily
Pay: £90.00 - £110.00 per day (based on qualifications and experience)
Schedule: Minimum 3 days per week - Flexible, short-notice cover

Are you a nurturing and experienced Early Years Teaching Assistant looking for flexible work in the Chesterfield area? Tradewind Recruitment is on the lookout for EYFS-trained support staff to join our supply team, offering hands-on classroom support in local primary schools on an as-needed basis.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys variety, thrives in early years environments, and is keen to work across different school settings without the commitment of a permanent post.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Supporting Foundation Stage children (Nursery and Reception) with daily routines and learning tasks

  • Assisting teachers with classroom organisation, activities and interventions

  • Adapting quickly to new environments and building positive relationships with children and staff

  • Stepping in to provide cover during staff absence or illness, sometimes at short notice

  • Creating an engaging and supportive atmosphere for young learners to thrive

What We're Looking For:

  • A recognised childcare or teaching assistant qualification at Level 2 or 3 (essential for working to EYFS staff ratios)

  • Previous experience working in an Early Years setting - either in schools or nurseries

  • Availability for at least three weekdays per week

  • Confidence to adapt to new classrooms and follow established routines

  • Ideally, access to your own car or reliable transport, as schools can be spread across Chesterfield and the surrounding area
