Learning Support Assistant - Autism Base in Primary School Setting
We are seeking a committed and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to support an autistic pupil joining a primary school setting in Merton starting this September. This opportunity is perfect for someone passionate about helping children flourish in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Position: Learning Support Assistant
Location: Primary School Setting, Merton
Start Date: September 2025
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide dedicated one-to-one support to the autistic pupil, aiding their academic progress within the classroom.
- Collaborate closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored learning plans.
- Offer behavioural and emotional assistance to foster a positive and supportive atmosphere.
- Support development of social skills and encourage independent learning.
- Assist the pupil during break times, transitions, and extracurricular activities.
What We're Looking For:
- Experience supporting children one-to-one, ideally with autism.
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive attitude.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support.
