Tradewind Recruitment is currently working with a forward-thinking secondary school in Islington seeking to appoint a part-time Economics Teacher for a September start, to be reviewed termly with the potential for extension beyond the Autumn term.
This client is a co-educational, inclusive secondary school that forms part of a respected academy trust. It has been praised in its most recent Ofsted report for its "ambitious leadership, inclusive ethos, and high expectations for student achievement." The school provides a supportive and collaborative environment for both staff and students, with a strong emphasis on professional development and academic excellence.
Job Role Requirements - Economics Teacher
* Teach Economics to KS5 students with clarity, depth, and enthusiasm
* Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum
* Contribute to the wider curriculum and enrichment activities of the department
* Provide high-quality feedback and monitor student progress to support achievement
* Participate in departmental meetings, parent evenings, and ongoing professional development
Qualifications & Person Specification
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised UK teaching qualification
* A degree in Economics or a closely related subject
* Proven experience teaching Economics at KS5 level
* Desirable: Ability to also teach KS4 Business Studies, Maths, or Computer Science
* Excellent subject knowledge and passion for Economics
* Strong communication, classroom management, and organisational skills
* Committed to fostering a positive learning environment for all students

Inner London MPS/UPS - Depending on experience and qualifications
